On a parade-ground in front of the Gatchina Castle it is possible to see a monument to Pavel I, the Russian emperor, the best-known owner of Gatchina. The author of a monument is the Russian sculptor Soared, created this statue in the second half of the 19th eyelid on a lifetime portrait of the Emperor and command of his son Nikolay I. The second copy of this monument was executed twenty years later and established in Pavlovsk, Pavel's one more residence.
